Algeria, April 10th 2012 – HE Abu Bakr Bin Buzeid, Minister of National Education, stresses the importance of educational democracy in Algeria. He asserts that education must be available to all, and compulsory up to the age of 16. He points out that quality education is also important to prove that Arab Islamic education is keeping pace with the demands of the 21st Century. Strong political will and the collaboration of families are important factors in achieving educational transformation and reform.

MENA Google Student Ambassador Training 2011
Alegria, March 6 2012 – The first training of the Middle East and North African Google Student Ambassadors was in Cairo, Egypt in July 2011. Out of 900 students who applied, an extraordinary group of 72 ambassadors from 33 different universities from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have come together to attend a one-week training given by Googlers from all over the world. They learned about Google tools, technologies and latest products, they received communication, presentation and leadership skill workshops and had loads of fun.
